Description
This two gallon bucket is made from Douglas Fir and bound with hickory and white oak sapling hoops. It was made using traditional hand tools and is water tight.
Top diameter 10 inches.
Bottom Diameter 12 inches.
Length of staves 7.5 inches.
Length Bale stave 9.5 inches
This bucket is held together by the tension of the hoops only. No glue, sealants, or nails were used. Traditionally coopered buckets like this one need to stay dry all the time or wet all the time. Exposure to varied humidity extremes will cause the wood to shink/expand causing the bucket to fall apart.
